CSOT's 8.6G Inkjet-Printed OLED Line Plan: Slight Delay, but Momentum Builds with Wuhan Progress & ChinaJoy Showcases

2025-08-14
South Korean research institute reported on July 9 that CSOT plans to announce the construction of an 8.6th-generation OLED production line using inkjet printing technology in July, with the project site located at Guangzhou T8 plot. An industry insider revealed, "Compared with the expectation that CSOT would announce the investment plan for the 8th-generation inkjet printing OLED in July, it has been slightly delayed."

Currently, CSOT has invested in and built a 5.5th-generation pilot production line for printed OLED panels in Optics Valley, Wuhan. This production line achieved mass production in November last year, with the first product being a 21.6-inch medical display.

Recently, at the ChinaJoy 2025 exhibition, CSOT showcased a variety of printed OLED products with high refresh rates. These include a 16-inch 2.5K 240Hz printed OLED laptop display, a 27-inch 4K 120Hz printed OLED monitor display, and a 14-inch printed OLED tablet display. For instance, the 27-inch printed OLED monitor display boasts an ultra-high 4K resolution, presenting extremely delicate images with clearly visible details. Coupled with a 120Hz high refresh rate, it not only enhances the smoothness of the picture but also reduces motion blur, offering a superior gaming experience.
